It is important never to open a jump ring or loop by pulling it apart, as it will not spring back together again.
Instead open it sideways by holding it between two pairs of pliers and moving one hand towards you and the other hand away from you.
To close it, move the pliers in opposite directions.
If the jump ring does not close tightly move your pliers backwards and forward several times so that you ’ wriggle’ the ends together
